There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are apparently needed to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of most border crossings.
